I was going to take a nap this morning (after my shiny new washing machine was delivered at the crack of dawn!) but then the doorbell rand and IT WAS THE UPS MAN!
I feel so special to have a PRE-preview since I went to Stampin’ Up! Convention. WooHoo!
Look what I got:
Give me a day or two to make some projects and I’ll get back to you!
I am not a traditional scrapbooker! I never have been, and probably never will be. BUT – pictures are very important to me, and I believe will be to my family in the future. So what should I do???
The solution I went for a couple of years ago was digital scrapbooking. My daughter was graduating, and while I did not have piles of neatly organized photos from each school activity, I *did* have a photograph from nearly every dance event in her life. And dance was the major focus in her life. So I started, and got about halfway through one page and became frustrated. Papercrafting wasn’t the problem – I knew how to papercraft and the basics of how to make a scrapbook page. What I lacked was the exact shade of paper I needed to coordinate with the photos, and any embellishments to use on the page. And I lived in the country, too far to run to get supplies. Especially at midnight.
So I found, and fell in love with, digital scrapbooking. And I have two lovely albums of my daughter’s dance life. But that’s it. I still have piles of photos from many years. And in the meantime, I have lost a husband, and my children have lost a father. Wouldn’t it be nice to get all those photos somehow organized and displayed? And maybe a little simpler and easier than even digital scrapbooking (which by the way is often NOT simple and easy!)?
I’m a Stampin’ Up demonstrator because I love papercrafts – especially cardmaking. But SU has a solution for my photos too. Project Life – aka pocket pages for scrapbooking. Pocket pages are the ultimate easy! In fact some of our early memories are in a pocket page album. But they are crammed in there with no notes or dates and need a little sprucing up. And, Project Life pages can be mixed in with other pages, such as printed digital pages or traditional scrapbook pages.
(I am NOT going to be taking a picture a day or some nonsense like that – I’m using Project Life strictly as photo organization/easy scrapbooking technique.)
So, I’m going to share this journey with you and encourage you to try some yourself. It probably won’t look like other people’s Project Life, and yours shouldn’t either. It’s your life and your scrapbook, right?
Where are your pictures? Be thinking with me, and we’ll work on more next Monday!

Remember those cute square graduation cards? Since I didn’t have any square envelopes, I decided to make a matching one with the envelope punch board. Here’s some pictures and instructions from another project. Start with a square cut the right size.
After finding the correct starting measurement, just line up, punch and score.
Then continue rotating and repeating.
There you go, finished card with matching envelope!
